Specifically, we are going to learn what is an online business system and why your business needs an online business version of itself to be successful in the short and long term. Now that we have gone through the introductions, let us get right into the meat of the matter. What is an online business system? And like I said, we won’t be using too many quotes and statistics. I’ll just be explaining to you, as I would explain to many of my clients and prospective clients, what is an online business, what is an online business system and why? It is that you can’t just hire a web developer from fiverr or upwork, have them build your website and start running Facebook ads, which is what a lot of people do. And let’s give you an analogy just to get the idea across. You have a business, it’s a local business. Let’s say you’re a plumber, you work in the San Francisco Bay Area and you help clients with their indoor plumbing, their outdoor plumbing, their basement work. Do they even have basements in the San Francisco Bay area? I am from Jamaica. I don’t know if you’re from the San Francisco Bay area. Please comment. Do you guys have basements? So let’s say that you do basements, right? So that’s what the plumber does and he would like to increase his revenue, or you would like to increase your revenues. There are a few ways that you can go about this. You could rely on Word of Mode, which is what most businesses rely on. And in episode one we looked at this 23% of businesses get clients from Word of Mode as 23% of customers actually talk about a business via Word of Mouth or learn about them via Word of Mouth. But 55% of customers search online for your business. So that means that if you are not online just by going online, 55% more of your target market. Let’s say there are 100,000 people in the Bay Area where there’s probably about 3 million people. So let’s say there are a million people in the Bay Area that would need a plumber. 55% more people could find you just by having a website. Just by not having a website, you’re losing a whole lot of money. But then let’s say you actually get a website. If the website isn’t optimized for conversions, then you have another problem. Because people come to your website, 99% of them will leave without doing anything. Especially in ecommerce. Ideally, when someone visits your website, you want them to convert. And convert just means that they do what you want them to do. For example, they set up a free consultation. They give you a call, they request a call, they ask for a free quote, they do something that keeps you in touch with them. But the thing is that not all conversions are equal. And it’s really simple to understand why someone who fills out a form requesting a call back on your website is converted, right? They are a prospective client, but they are not as valuable as someone who went through all the way of searching your product catalog, adding the card, adding your credit card information on your PayPal or Stripe and check out different values. And ideally, what you would like to have is that they make the purchase or they become a client. So no conversion. Optimized website. You might be getting traffic. Let’s say you’re getting traffic, but nothing is happening with the traffic. A lot of businesses have this problem. They have the website, it looks beautiful. People are seeing the website, but they’re not getting any calls, they’re not getting any clients, and they’re not making money from it. Then you say, okay, let’s do some ads. You run Google Ads. And this is going into the idea of online business system. So you run Google Ads. You run Facebook Ads. You may run TikTok or Instagram. And upon running the ads, you send a traffic to your landing page, your home page, and the traffic goes to your home page. You spend $3,000 per month on ads, and you pay the Google Ads guy or the Facebook Ads guy, as they would call them, and nothing happens. And you’re saying, well, this online thing is a scammer. Doesn’t work. You fire everyone. You pack up your stuff and you start to rely on word of what like you were doing before. Now, that is a typical scenario I have with a lot of the clients I’ve worked with. They need more business, they need more leads, more clients. They need more customers, increasing revenues as a bit of peace of mind, knowing where that next sale our client is coming from, but they don’t know how to go about that. So what does this have to do with an online business system? You see, the online business system should attract your ideal client. So if you are targeting people in San Francisco Bay Area, 35 to 55, homeowners, married, six figure income, your online business system should do that. Additionally, once it’s attracted the ideal client, it’s supposed to convert them from just website visitors to someone who’s actually interested in your business. It should convert them to little bit more than that. So a qualified prospect or a lead for your business, it should then nurture them and educate them. So that by the way, if you hear an accent, I’m Jamaican guys. So it should nurture them and educate them so that they know you, they love you, they trust you, and they’re ready to spend money with you. And then whenever they are ready to spend money, it should be there to make them an offer that they can’t refuse. They become a client. And it’s still not done there because after all of that is done, guess what? Your online business system should get more clients from your clients through referrals, right? And ideally, you want your online business system to work independent of you because you’re not a web developer, you’re not a marketer. You are by trade, a plumber. You are a lawyer, you are an engineer, you are many things, but you’re not a website developer, you’re not a programmer, you’re not a marketer. And you really don’t have time to figure this stuff out. So why then do you need an online business system? If that is what an online business system is? It’s a system that attracts the right clients, nurtures them, and eventually converts them to loyal clients that are paying for your businesses, services or products and referring you to friends and family. If that is what an online business system is, why do you need one? Well, you need an online business system for a few reasons. The very first reason is that you need predictable income, right? As an entrepreneur myself, we have an obligation and a commitment, a responsibility not to ourselves first, but to our workers, our clients and our families. Not knowing where that next sale, client or lead is coming from that’s going to eventually bring in revenues. It leads to a lot of anxiety, right? So you need predictable income. Predictable income gives you the ability to invest more in the business, hire someone else, improve your product’s quality or services quality and everything like that. You also need predictable leads. So predictable leads means that you know that every month you’re going to get about ten to 15 leads in your business. From ten to 15 leads. Predictable leads. You also need predictable sales. So predictable sales and new clients is just saying that. All right, every month I get 15 new leads into let’s use the easier number. I get ten leads into my business. From these ten leads, I convert 40%. So I get four new customers every month. Each customer is worth $1,500. So each month I’m making about $6,000 from new clients alone. Right? So right there you have predictable income, you have predictable leads, you have predictable sales and clients. And you can see why it’s a system because everything is connected, even in the benefits. Right now you also need scalability. So if you know that by spending, let’s say, $2,000 per month on marketing and advertisement and all of that good stuff here. Let’s go. Good. So you have the pro plan of the startup kit. It’s $2,500 per month. You have 20% discount. You’re spending $2,000. You’re spending another $1,000 on ads. So $3,000 spent per month. And you know that from $3,000 you get ten leads. It’s eight. I don’t know how complicated that. You have eight clients each month and you were making $6,000. Now you’re making $12,000. And it’s scalable, right? So you know what you’re paying at each step. 24/7. Availability. So with your online business, you open shop between seven and five or seven and eight or nine to five, as it is in my country. And you close shop for another 16 hours per day, or 15 hours or 10 hours between the time that you’re closed and you open. There are people who need your products or services, or they could learn more about your business, become leads, and eventually do business with you. 24/7. Availability means that you’re serving clients and prospects all day, every day. And that also adds to accessibility. From the comfort of my home in Jamaica, I could be contacting the plumber in the San Francisco Bay Area because I dream of owning property there. So let’s say I own property in the San Francisco Bay area. I need a plumber to ensure everything is all right. I’m coming up in a few days. I want to ensure everything is in good stead. I can contact that plumber while I’m at home in Jamaica, let’s say on a Tuesday night, right? So availability and accessibility, scalability, powerboard, a wider market. Now I am in Jamaica, and I can contact and I’ll give you an example that actually happens, and I can contact the plumber in the San Francisco Bay Area. Different country, different state, everything in my country, a lot of times, people migrate from Jamaica to America or UK or Canada, europe. And they are building a home in Jamaica. No, what happens is that they stay from Canada, from America, from the UK, and they purchase products to build their homes. They purchase blocks, concrete, cement, sand, gravel, everything. But not many businesses have a website that can cater for them. So who do you think is getting all those sales? Perfect, right? We also have automation. And like I said, automation means that you don’t have to be the one to do everything for it to get done. You do it once, it’s okay. You set it up and you set it up, and it pretty much does everything without your input. So businesses that succeed long term has a distinct brand, something that you remember them by. Microsoft. Not the top of the market anymore, but not by any means a distant memory. What am I saying? I just listed ten reasons why you need an online business system. So we know what an online business system is, and we know the advantages, ten of them. Predictable income coming from predictable leads coming from predictable so well connected with predictable sales and predictable clients. You also have scalability, 24/7 availability, accessibility, a wider market, automation, data gathering. So you know your metrics, your numbers, and build a lasting brand for success. Now, I could go on and I could discuss a bit more reasons why you need an online business system. But some of those were discussed in episode one. For example, consumer behavior changing. More people look online for businesses and solutions than they do face to face or word of mouth. They use their website like five times more than they even talk about. All right, so after you’ve pretty much got your website together, you’ve optimized it for conversions. You need to get email marketing. Now, the reason why we say email marketing, and we will discuss this in future episodes, is that it gives you the highest return on ad spend or row us, and it also gives you the highest return on investment. But it’s actually a return on investment because you don’t need to spend money for ads unless you’re growing your email list to use email. So it’s the highest return on investment ROI, and it’s pretty much saying you put in a dollar, you’re supposed to make back $42. Some reports say $38, some say $44, but it’s a lot of dollars, right? So you’re going to go to mailchimp.com, and really quickly, I wrote a blog post on this. So if you go to blog, that’s Zelhan.com and you look at the blog post that says how to start your own online business, there is much of this information on most of these links and tutorials and guys listed in that blog post. All right? So you can do that as well. So let’s continue. So you can go to mailchimp.com, sign up for a free account, and once you sign up for a free account, you create your first audience. Now, after you create your first audience, you’re going to get a subscription form for your audience to complete with their name and your email. And from there, they are part of your email list. You can market to them for free. So what you’re going to do is you’re going to get that audience list and it’s going to be used in the next few steps. So you’re going to take that audience list and you’re going to add it to the website. And how you do that is that there’s a link in MailChimp and you can find a tutorial in the blog post as well. There’s a link in MailChimp that allows you to embed your subscription form on your website. You’re going to embed that form in your website, and you’re also going to embed the link to your subscription form in social media. Now, I recommend that you start a TikTok account. Most people in America might not want to. I agree with them. It might be a security concern, we don’t know. But you can go with TikTok, you can go with Instagram, you can go with Facebook, and you can go with LinkedIn. Most businesses will thrive on one of those four platforms. So I can’t give you specific information because different people are listening. But in general, TikTok, because it’s young, you can get a lot of views and traction without spending money. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, create an account for your business, and in the description of your account, post a link to your MailChimp subscription form. Now, your social media strategy is very simple. You are going to post twice or thrive three times per day. If it’s TikTok, you can get away with two times. But Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn post content three times per day, and you’re going to do this for a year, every day. Eventually, you will find a marketing strategy that works. So there’s a lot of work that goes into this, right? And it’s not going to work at first because it’s your first time. But as an entrepreneur, you have to do what’s necessary to get you to the level where you can hire a team like Zelhan to get most of this work done. A client or two can change a lot for you. Three times per day, posting on each platform, figuring out what’s going to work, what doesn’t work, and you link back. So you’re going to ask them, join my email to learn more. You teach them more about what you’re good at. Plumbing, dentistry, being an electrician contractor, well, a home construction officer. I work with a lot of construction teams, so it’s always on mine. And what that does for you is that it educates your prospects. It teaches them about you. It builds a relationship with them so that they are comfortable working with you and giving you their money. So now you have a website, you have email, you’re getting leads from your website. You’re getting leads from social media. What do you do next? You’re sending emails to your leads, to your email list. And each email should have an offer. The offer is whatever it is that you do to get clients. So you might request them to you might say, okay, request a free quote or get a free consultation. So with Zelehan, it’s a free consultation. You might offer them a discount, you might offer them a special, whatever the case may be. And from there, what you’ll find happens is that your social media is getting your traffic. Traffic is becoming email leads. Email leads are being nurtured. They are learning more about you and eventually someone will purchase. But you have to commit for a year. A year, because you’re starting out fresh. You don’t know what works. You don’t know how to do all this stuff at a pro level. It’s going to take time to get results. And I won’t say start and then hope it works. I’m setting the expectations. Do it for a year, three posts every day for a year, and something will work. If you haven’t done it for a year, do not quit. It takes time. So that is how you can get your very own online business system. And you don’t have to run ads, because running ads carry a severe risk. So, for example, you might run ads sending traffic to your website. The worst thing you can do is send it to your home page, which is what a lot of people do. A lot of businesses run ads. Is sending to their own page not good. What you need to do is send it to a dedicated landing page and how you’re going to design a landing page for it to convert, right? And remember, you are paid for each click. So if you’re doing something as terrible as sending them to your home page or to a landing page that isn’t optimized for conversion, then you’re wasting money. And let me tell you, Google Ads are not cheap. So start free. Figure out what works, what doesn’t work, and then you can put your money into ads. Or you can get a team like Zelhan. You have a small business system. You have something to work on. You don’t have to know everything right off the bat. Like I said, we will be discussing every area, every subcategory of a successful online business. What you need to do, however, is get started and stick to it. Because it takes time to be successful in business and online, you have to be consistent to get results. So some things to consider, the timeline very important. So you don’t want to go ahead, start and then stop after a month or two. Commit to it for a year. You have nothing better to do than try to make money for your business getting more leads, right? So commit to it for a year. Ensure that you’re speaking to your target customers. So if you’re targeting couples, for example, don’t post stuff about being single. If you are targeting homeowners, you might want to talk a bit about owning a home. You might want to have a mortgage. You guys have mortgage in your country? Let me know in the comment section below. You’re selling cars where you sell your car, you’re selling it to families youngsters who are trying to get a nice sports car. Single people, speak to your clients, speak to your customers. You know who they are. You know what their fears, their dreams, their aspirations are. Because you interact with them on a daily basis. Address their fears and their concerns. Profitability. So you don’t want to spend $1,000 on ads. You get ten sales and each product is sold at $10. It doesn’t work, right? So you need to know how much you need to spend, how much you can afford to spend, and then spend that timeline. Commit to it for twelve months and investment. Invest your time. When you figure out what works with your time, you invest your money. So that is actually it for episode two of Online Business Systems. In episode one we looked at where we started.
